Problem:
No picture with S-Video (YC) video
sources.
Cause 1:
Incorrect input selected on the VSP 1250 R.
Remedy:
Switch the VSP 1250 R to the AV2 input.
Cause 2:
YC video cable not connected between the
surround receiver and the VSP 1250 R
(AV2 input).
Remedy:
Connect the appropriate cable.
Cause 3:
The correct type of video signal for the
source concerned has not been assigned
at the surround receiver.
Remedy:
Set the video signal type to S-Video
('VIDEO
inputs'
SR 1535 R / DD 1535 R).
Problem:
No picture with Component (YUV) video
sources.
Cause 1:
Incorrect input selected on the VSP 1250 R.
Remedy:
Switch the VSP 1250 R to the AV3 input.
Cause 2:
YUV video cable not connected between
the surround receiver and the VSP 1250 R
(AV3 input).
Remedy:
Connect the appropriate cable.
Cause 3:
The correct type of video signal for the
source concerned has not been assigned
at the surround receiver.
Remedy:
Set the video signal type to YUV ('VIDEO
inputs' setup menu on the SR 1535 R /
DD 1535 R).
Problem:
Pictures from analogue video sources
appear duplicated (two images side-by-
side).
Cause:
The picture source or the surround receiver
connected
delivering analogue video signals with
'Progressive Scan'.
Remedy:
Switch the source or receiver to generate
normal half-images (interlaced video).
Problem:
Pictures are displayed with incorrect
colours.
Cause:
The monitor has detected the incorrect
colour format (RGB / YUV), or is configured
to the wrong colour format.
Remedy:
Adjust your monitor's colour format so that
the colours are displayed correctly (see the
operating instructions supplied with your
monitor).

Sound problems
Problem:
With
receiver only reproduces stereo sound.
Cause:
Input sound format incorrectly set on the
VSP 1250 R.
Remedy:
Select the 'ALL' setting in the AUDIO
SETUP sound format menu.
Problem:
A video monitor connected to the HDMI
output produces no sound.
Cause 1:
The VSP 1250 R is not receiving a sound
signal from the surround receiver.

Connect the digital sound input of the
VSP 1250 R to a digital sound output on
your receiver.
Cause 2:
The sound passed to the VSP 1250 R is in
a format which the display device cannot
process (e.g. Dolby Digital Surround).
Remedy:
Set the digital sound output of your receiver
and / or source device so that it generates
a sound format which is compatible with the
video monitor (e.g. PCM).
