with a B
If you operate your VSP 1250 R in conjunction with an
SR 1535 R (*) or DD 1535 R (*), virtually all the operating
processes are completely automated.
Simply switch your video monitor on, and select the
HDMI input on the monitor (or the DVI input if you are
using DVI wiring).
Note:
Many models of video monitor offer an
automatic power-on feature which switches the
device on as soon as an HDMI signal is present
at the input.
Now select the desired source - e.g. DVD - on the B
system. There will be a brief transition delay, then the
picture from the DVD player will appear on the monitor,
and you will hear the appropriate sound. When the
source is selected, the system invokes your preferred
picture and sound settings for this device (see 'Source-
specific presets' in the chapter entitled 'Useful
information / Glossary').
All you need to do now is briefly press the 
on your F6 remote control handset, and the programme
begins.
(*) Note:
If the VSP 1250 R is to work properly with this
system combination, the B surround receiver
or decoder must be fitted with a certain
minimum version of the software. For more
information on this please refer to the chapter
entitled 'Specification'.

Adjusting the aspect ratio
The only function which you may need to adjust
occasionally when using a complete B system
incorporating the SR 1535 R or DD 1535 R is the aspect
ratio setting (4 : 3 / 16 : 9).
If at any time the picture from the source device is not
displayed correctly on your monitor, please select the
appropriate conversion factor for the current source by
pressing the ASP button on the front panel of the
VSP 1250 R (see also the chapter entitled 'Useful
information / Glossary').
Alternatively you can adjust the aspect ratio conveniently
from your armchair using the remote control system. This
is the procedure:
• A brief press on the 

Supplementary settings
Occasionally you may wish to change other settings,
such as contrast, brightness etc. You can do this directly
at any time by using the buttons on the front panel of the
machine.
Alternatively you can - of course - use the remote control
handset. The procedure is exactly as described above:
• Switch to VSP 1250 R mode by pressing the 
button.
• Carry out the adjustment required using the direct
buttons on the F6 handset (see the chapter entitled
'Remote control of the VSP 1250 R') or using the
Setup menu (see the chapter entitled 'Menu control').
• Press the 

Note:
The system remembers all the picture and
sound settings which you have selected for your
B system; they are stored individually for
each source device.

refer to the section 'Source-specific presets' in
the
