7.3 Maintenance request and fault message
Maintenance request
If there are indications of changes to device-internal parameters, "Maintenance request"
appears in the status line. Such changes do not affect the measuring capability of the device
at the time they occur. However, in order to guarantee the measuring capability in the long-
term, you may need to take remedial measures.
If you have configured the relay output of the device accordingly (function 71), there is also
an external signal.
Fault
Defects in the hardware or changes in the device parameters that would make the device
unfit to take measurements trigger a fault message. "Fault" then appears in the status bar of
the measured-value display. The measured value flashes. Remedial measures are essential!
As with the maintenance request, an external signal can be sent via the relay output
(function 71). In addition, you can set the analog output to the output current range that you
have set with function 77 (measured value memory).
