solenoid valve (N80)
Special tools, testers and aids required
♦ Vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552 with cable
V.A.G 1551/3
♦ Test box V.A.G 1598/22
♦ Hand-held multimeter, e.g. V.A.G 1526 A or
multimeter V.A.G 1715
♦ Adapter cable set V.A.G 1594 A
♦ Current flow diagram
Test conditions
l Fuse 132 of the fuse holder on the battery
must be o.k.
K l Fuse 43 must be o.k.
Inspecting for leaks
The solenoid valve is closed when de-energized.
K -
Detach the hose -1- from the solenoid valve
-2- for the activated charcoal filter (N80).

Push the auxiliary hose onto the free valve
connection.

Insert the connector for the solenoid valve.
-
Initiate final control diagnosis (function 03)
and select the activated charcoal filter
solenoid valve ⇒ page 01-12.

Check that the solenoid valve opens and
closes correctly by blowing into the auxiliary
hose during final control diagnosis; replace
solenoid valve if necessary.
Testing -N80 (ACF valve)
Warning!
Switch on the relevant measuring range before
connecting the test cables and observe the test
conditions in order to avoid damaging the
electronic components.
