Self-Diagnosis
Procedure
- Connect vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552
and select the engine electronics control unit
with „address word" 01. The ignition must
be switched on for this step.

HELP K Readout in display:
- Press keys 0 and 3 for the function „Final
control diagnosis".
Q K Readout in display:
Operate throttle valve positioner (V60):
- Confirm the entry with the key Q.
K Readout in display:
The throttle valve positioner must continue
opening and closing the throttle flap until the
next actuator is operated by pressing the
key.
If the throttle valve positioner does not move:
- Test throttle valve positioner
⇒ page 24-17, Testing throttle valve control
unit.
Actuate solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal
filter (N80):
K Remove fuel pump relay and connect contacts
17 and 23 using auxiliary cables from adapter
cable set V.A.G 1594 A.
- Press the
K Readout in display:
This solenoid valve (on right in front of
coolant reservoir) must click until the next
actuator is operated by pressing the
key.
