Self-Diagnosis
If the valve does not click:
- Continue test ⇒ page 24-49.
Display engine speed signal:
Disconnect auxiliary cables from adapter cable
set V.A.G 1594 A and install fuel pump relay -1-.
- Press the
K Readout in display:
The rev counter must indicate approx. 3000 rpm
until the next actuator is operated by pressing
the key.
If no readout appears:
- Test the rev counter.

Operate fuel pump relay (J17):
- Press the
K Readout in display:
The fuel pump relay (on relay plate, relay
position 4) must continue clicking until the
next actuator is operated by pressing the
key.
Note:
During the time the fuel pump relay is activated,
the fuel pump must also be heard to run at
intervals.
If the relay does not click:
- Test fuel pump relay
⇒ page 24-52, Testing fuel pump relay and
actuation.
- Press the
K Readout in display:
This test step is also displayed on models
without air conditioning.
Ignore readout.
