Self-Diagnosis
After the vehicle system tester has been
connected:
- Depending on the desired function, you must:
switch on ignition or
start the engine ⇒ page 01-1, table of
„Available Functions".
Notes:
♦ If the readouts which appear in the display
are not the same as shown in the procedure:
⇒ Operating Instructions of vehicle system
tester
♦ If "Fault in data transfer!" is displayed
because of an incorrect entry, disconnect
cable at fault reader, plug in again and repeat
the steps.
HELP K Readout in display:
Note:
Operate the vehicle system tester by referring
to the readouts which appear in the display.
- Press the keys 0 and 1 for the address word
„Engine electronics" and confirm the entry
with the key Q.
2162 → K The control unit identification appears in the
display, e.g.:
♦ 032 906 014A = Part No. of control unit
♦ Marelli 1AVM = System designation and
version
♦ 2162 = Programme status number
- Press the → key.
HELP K Readout in display:
- Refer to repair operations for further proce-
dure.
