Fuel Preparation/Fuel Injection
Continuation of test if readout -40 °C:
K - Unplug the connector -1- from the intake air
temperature sender (G42) with the intake
manifold pressure sender (G71) -2-.
- Bridge the contacts 1 + 2 of the connector
using auxiliary cables from V.A.G 1594 A and
at the same time check the readout in the
display.
Readout 129 °C:
- Press → key.
- Press keys 0 and 6 for the function „End data
transfer" and confirm the entry with the key Q.
- Switch off the ignition.
- Replace the intake air temperature sender
with intake manifold pressure sender -2-
⇒ page 24-6, item 1.
Readout -40 °C:
- Press the → key.
- Press keys 0 and 6 for the function „End data
transfer" and confirm the entry with the key Q.
- Switch off the ignition.
K - Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to the wiring
loom of the control unit.
- Test the cable between test box socket 54
and 4-pin connector contact 2 for open circuit
on the basis of the current flow diagram.
- Unplug the connector from the engine control
unit.
- Test the cable in addition for short circuit to
battery positive.
- Test the cable between test box socket 67
and 4-pin connector contact 1 for open circuit
on the basis of the current flow diagram.
If no fault is found in the cable:
Cable resistance: max. 1.5
Specification:
Cable resistance: max. 1.5
