Hidden Weight Balancing
Hidden Weight (HID) Mode hides Outer Plane Weight behind selected spokes on the Wheel so that
they cannot be seen (as much as possible).
Use ALU1 Mode for Hidden Weight Mode.
With Hidden Weight Mode, Weight on the Inner Plane is used normally, while Adhesive Weights on the
Outer Plane are split and mounted behind spokes.
To balance a Wheel using Hidden Weight Mode:
1. Make sure you are wearing ANSI-approved eye protection: safety glasses, face shield, or goggles.
2. Visually inspect the Balancer to make sure everything is in place. The Hood should be

4. Turn the Balancer Off and then back On, to reset it.
5. Press the ALU Button to select ALU1 Mode.
6. Pull out the Inner Arm and put it on the Inner Plane.
7. When the Balancer beeps, return the Inner Arm to its normal location.
8. Place the tip of the Outer Arm on the Outer Plane and hold it there.
9. When the Balancer beeps, return the Outer Arm to its normal location.
10. Lower the Hood; the Wheel spins briefly.
11. Raise the Hood when the Wheel stops.
Required weight values appear in the INNER and OUTER Windows.
12. Turn the Wheel by hand until you see the Placement Indicators on the INNER side are all lit.
13. Attach the appropriate weight to the Inner Plane where the laser is pointing.
14. Press and hold the T and OPT buttons, then release them.
The HID mode icon goes on.
15. Turn the Wheel by hand until you see the Weight Position indicators on the OUTER side are fully
illuminated.
16. Press the ALU button.

17. Rotate the Wheel by hand until a spoke is at Top Dead Center (the 12 o'clock position).

19. Rotate the Wheel by hand until the next spoke is at Top Dead Center (the 12 o'clock position).
