Checking Current Buffer Siz es
Send a configuration upload pac ket to check the s izes of the buffers . See
Header" for more information. After c hec king the current buffer sizes , begin reallocating m em ory.
To increase the image buffer and not us e downloaded fonts , add that mem ory into the im age
buffer.

Make s ure memory is available before adding mem ory to a buffer. In the above example, if the
im age buffer (M,I,R,4400) was defined before the downloadable fonts (M,D,R,80) buffer, an error
would have oc curred.

Image Buffe r
Used to image the current format. The printer supports two 4-inch by 8-inc h
buffers. Images up to 16 inc hes long c an be defined without realloc ating
m emory. The im age buffer is cleared after a printer reset.
Use the form ula below to calc ulate the approximate im age buffer size.
Length is the length of the label in inches.
(Multiply by 10 and round up to the next whole number if nec ess ary)
Enter 5250 for the Im age buffer.

Enter 12305 for the Image buffer.
Format Buffe r
Used to s tore formats, batc h data, and graphics. Use the following form ula to
calc ulate the required format buffer siz e:
Linec ount is the number of lines in the format packet including the form at
header and all the options .
The res ult of the above c alculation is in kilobytes. Form ats remain in m em ory
when the printer is turned off.
Downloadable
Used to s tore downloaded (bitmapped or TrueType) fonts . To determ ine the
Fonts Buffe r
siz e of the downloadable fonts , send a font packet. For TrueType fonts, the file
siz e, in bytes, is the minimum am ount needed in this buffer. See
Font Pac
when the printer is turned off. Store downloaded fonts into flash m em ory.
