U s i n g O n l i n e C o n f i g u r a ti o n P a c k e t s
Use online c onfiguration pac kets to c hange the printer's settings. Send an individual
configuration pac ket or a single packet containing all the configuration packets . Supply all
parameters for each pac ket. Leave the parameters blank that do not need to change. For
exam ple,

prints a s lashed z ero and uses the las t sent online System Setup parameters .
Make a c opy of the online configuration worksheet in Appendix D,
save the original. All online configuration packets are lis ted on the worksheet.
W hen turning off the printer, all the information in the online configuration packets is saved and
used when the printer is turned back on. After c hanging the printer's configuration, resend the
form at, batc h, or graphic to the printer before the changes take effect.
Configuration Packet Header
Always include an I, imm ediately after the left bracket { and before the packet identifier (A, B, C,
etc .). The I parameter identifies the data stream as a configuration packet.
Note :
Inc lude the I parameter with eac h packet if sending them individually. Include it only at
the beginning of a data stream if sending multiple packets.

Add a configuration to RAM or specify units for s upply, print, margin, and cut pos itions. If us ing
the optional param eters with the I packet, any online configuration packets following the split
vertical bar (|) mus t s pec ify distances us ing the selected units. However, the tes t labels display
the units in dots , even if entered in Englis h or Metrics units.
