bonding, etc.), national regulations, DIN/VDE standards, explosion protection directives, and the

Explosion protection type "Intrinsically safe EEx I"

Only intrinsically safe devices may be installed in the transmitter signal circuit. The signal
circuit can be interrupted while the transmitter is in operation (e.g., clamping/unclamping
signal lines).
The housing may be opened during operation.
Transmitters with or without remote seals featuring explosion protection type "EEx i"
(intrinsically safe) may be set up directly at Zone 0, provided that the power is supplied via
an intrinsically safe electrical circuit with protection type EEx ia or EEx ib.
Test circuit (terminals "TEST +/-"): With explosion protection type "intrinsically safe",
connections should only be established to passive, intrinsically safe circuits. The category,
explosion group, and maximum values for U
can be determined on the basis of the intrinsically safe signal circuit connected.
