2.1 About this Installation Manual

This manual, AKD Installation Manual ("Instructions Manual" according to EC Machinery Dir-
ective 2006/42/EC), describes theAKD series of digital drives drive and includes information
needed to safely install an AKD. A digital version of this installation manual (pdf format) is
available on the DVD included with your drive. Manual updates can be downloaded from the
Kollmorgen website (www.kollmorgen.com).
