Removing the oil pump and countershaft con-
trol gear.
- To remove the control gear, loosen the 4 fasten-
ing screws.
Remove the gear only if actually required.
CAUTION
THE SCREWS HAVE A COUNTERSUNK HEAD AND THEIR
THREADING IS LOCKED BY LOCTITE. BE CAREFUL NOT
TO DAMAGE THE CONTROL HEXAGON. TO OBTAIN BET-
TER RESULTS IT IS PREFERABLE TO USE AN INSIDE
HEXAGON SOCKET WRENCH.

Removing the countershaft

- Place the special tool as shown in the figure.
Specific tooling
020479Y Countershaft lock wrench
- Remove the fastening nut with relevant washer.
- Remove the special tool and extract the counter-
shaft with the control gear.
