Instructions

Turn off or disconnect all equipment power sources and mount the transmitter and receiver as
required. The transmitter and receiver each ship with furniture mounting brackets attached.

recommend which kit to order for your installation. Alternatively, you can remove the pre-
installed furniture mounting brackets and attach four rubber feet at the corners of each unit
and place it on a table or desk.

UL Rack Mounting Guidelines

The following Underwriters Laboratories (UL) guidelines pertain to the safe installation of
HC 404 System devices (the HCT 103 and HCR 102) in a rack.

Observe local and UL safety guidelines for mounting devices to equipment racks.
Elevated operating ambient temperature — If installed in a closed or multi-unit
rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be
greater than room ambient temperature. Therefore, install the units in an environment
compatible with the maximum ambient temperature (Tma = +104 °F, +40 °C) specified
by Extron.
Reduced air flow — Install the equipment in a rack so that the amount of air flow
required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised.
Mechanical loading — Mount the equipment in the rack so that a hazardous
condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
