Preparing Tools

Phillips screwdrivers: P1-100mm, P2-150mm, P3-250mm

Flat-blade screwdrivers: P4-75mm

ESD-preventive wrist straps, ESD-preventive gloves

Antistatic bags, antistatic pads

None of the above-mentioned tools are shipped with the A6602.
Precautions
1) Maintain the router hardware under the guidance of the local dealer or technical support
engineers appointed by HP.
2) To avoid injuries, ensure that all power sources to the router are disconnected before
maintaining any hardware modules of the router.
3) Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap or ESD-preventive gloves when maintaining the
router hardware. For more information, refer to "Electrostatic Discharge Prevention" in Chapter
2 "Preparing for Installation".
4) When operating a demountable module, such as a HIM/MIM, a memory module, or a CF card,
note that:
Ensure good alignment with the slot and use uniform force to avoid damage to the module

during installation or removal.
Avoid touching any components on the PCB during observation or moving.

Put the removed module on an antistatic workbench with the PCB side facing upward or place

them in antistatic bags.
5) Run the corresponding commands before hot-swapping the following boards Use the remove
slot slotnumber subslot subslot-number command before hot-swapping a HIM/MIM. If you
have run this command but do not want to remove the HIM/MIM, use the undo remove slot
slotnumber subslot subslot-number command to cancel the operation.

User Manual.
Opening/Closing the Chassis Cover
One of the screws fixing the router chassis is covered with an HP dismantlement-preventive
seal. Before providing services on your router, your local dealer requires that the factory seal be
unbroken. Therefore, please contact your local dealer for permission before opening the router
chassis, and follow your local dealer's instructions. A broken factory seal will result in
unavailability of router services by your local sales agent.
