Setting up the Telepresence Room

Placing the Microphone Pods

About this task
The XT Telepresence comes with two Microphone Pods. The Microphone Pods are connected in
the cascaded mode: the first pod is connected to the second, and the second pod is connected to
the Master XT Codec Unit

Place Microphone Pods carefully to cover the entire room in case of a standard telepresence room
or to cover the first row in a dual-row telepresence room.
If you want to cover the second table row in a dual-row telepresence room, you need to deploy third-
party audio-in accessories described in Avaya Scopia
version 2.0.
Procedure
1. Place the Microphone Pods on the table in the telepresence room according to these specific
guidelines

• Rotate the Microphone Pods so the cord extends in the direction of the monitors.
• Place the first Microphone Pod in front of the second chair (participant).
• Place the second Microphone Pod in front of the fifth chair (participant).
• Ensure there is a distance of two meters (approximately) between the Microphone Pods.
• Both Microphone Pods should be 10cm from the edge of the table
