Accessories, Loading and Passengers
Warning
The maximum safe load for the top
box is stated on a label inside the top
box. Never exceed this loading limit as
this may cause the motorcycle to
become unstable leading to loss of
motorcycle control and an accident.
Warning
Do not install accessories or carry
luggage that impairs the control of the
motorcycle. Make sure that you have
not adversely affected the visibility of
any
lighting
component,
clearance, banking capability (i.e. lean
angle), control operation, wheel travel,
front fork movement, visibility in any
direction, or any other aspect of the
motorcycle's operation.
128
Never attempt to store any items
between the frame and the fuel tank.
This can restrict the steering and will
cause loss of motorcycle control
leading to an accident.
Weight attached to the handlebar or
front fork will increase the mass of the
steering assembly and can result in
loss of steering control leading to an
accident.

If the passenger seat is used to carry
small objects, they must not exceed
5 kg (11 lbs) in weight, must not impair
control of the motorcycle, must be
securely attached and must not
extend beyond the rear or sides of the
motorcycle.
Carrying objects in excess of 5 kg
(11 lbs) in weight, that are insecure,
impair control or extend beyond the
rear or sides of the motorcycle may
lead to loss of motorcycle control and
