How to adjust the folding bar
To perform printing on media with appropriate tension, it is
necessary to adjust the mount position of the folding bar
and the number of bars.
 If the tension of the media is low
Increase the winding angle.
The tension applied to the media becomes higher.
 If the tension of the media is high
Decrease the winding angle.
The tension applied to the media becomes lower.
When using the media which is hard to
expand and contract
• When using the media which is hard to expand
and contract, it is recommended not to use the
smoother roller. Set the media after removing the
smoother roller. (
It is possible to set the media in a route avoiding
the smoother roller.

Setting roll media without using ten-
sion bar
When setting media, read the following notes carefully.
• To set roll media without using tension bar, replace
direct-connection unit attached to feeding device
with torque limiter that comes with the product.
• To print continuously without using tension bar,
limit the media length to approximately 10 m. If
you want to continuously print more than 10 m,
use tension bar to set media.
Replacing the direct-connection unit
To wind the media without using tension bar, you must
replace direct-connection unit with torque limiter.

Remove the direct-connection unit.
• Remove the thumbscrew, and then remove the
direct-connection unit.

Attach the Torque limiter.
(1) Insert so that the projection of the Torque
limiter match the groove of the feeding/ take-
up device.
(2) As shown in the illustration, attach it so that the tip
of the shaft of the feeding/ take-up device
matches the surface of the Torque limiter.
• As shown in the figure, attach it so that the tip of
the shaft of the take-up device matches the
surface of the torque limiter. If the tip of the shaft
and the surface of the torque limiter does not
match, the take-up of the media will not run well.
