Setting roll media without using ten-

When setting media, read the following notes carefully.
• To set roll media without using tension bar, replace
direct-connection unit attached to feeding/take-up
device with torque limiter that comes with the
product.
• To print continuously without using tension bar,
limit the media length to approximately 10 m. If
you want to continuously print more than 10 m,
use tension bar to set media.
Replacing the direct-connection unit
To wind the media without using tension bar, you must
replace direct-connection unit with torque limiter.
Remove the direct-connection unit.

• Remove the thumbscrew, and then remove the
direct-connection unit.
Attach the Torque limiter.

(1) Insert so that the projection of the Torque
limiter match the groove of the feeding/ take-
up device.
(2) As shown in the illustration, attach it so that the tip
of the shaft of the feeding/ take-up device
matches the surface of the Torque limiter.
• As shown in the figure, attach it so that the tip of
the shaft of the take-up device matches the
surface of the torque limiter. If the tip of the shaft
and the surface of the torque limiter does not
match, the take-up of the media will not run well.

(3) Use the thumb screw to fix the
• Refer to the above when replacing the torque
limiter with direct-connection unit.
• Insert so that the projection of the motor direct-
connection unit match the groove of the feeding/
take-up device when attaching the motor direct-
connection unit.

The figure below shows an example of routing when
setting cloth media without using tension bar.
Prior to setting the media, if you understand the routing of
the media, you can perform the setting of the media
smoothly.
• Before setting fabric media, check that around the
grit roller is not stained. If it is stained, clean it.
• To set roll media without using tension bar, adjust
the media tension by using folding bar and torque
limiter. ( P.2-12, P.2-17)
