Inner
Mainshaft Sensor Output Line Short
Circuit Inspection
Check
for continuity between the wire harness side
inner mainshaft sensor 3 P ( Black ) connector [ 1 ]
terminal and ground
.
Connection : Gray / yellow - Ground
Is there continuity ?
YES
-
Short circuit in the Gray / yellow wire
NO
-
GO TO STEP 8

Inner Mainshaft Sensor Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF .
Replace the inner mainshaft sensor with a known
good one ( page 12
- 76 ) .
Erase the DTCs ( page 12
-
10 ) .
Test
- ride the motorcycle and stop the engine .
Check the DTC with the MCS
.
Is DTC 53 - 1 indicated ?
YES
-
Replace the PCM with a known good one ,
and recheck
.
NO
-
Faulty original inner mainshaft sensor
DTC 54 - 1 ( OUTER MAINSHAFT
SENSOR SPEED LOW )
NOTE :
• Before starting the
inspection , check for loose or
poor contact on the outer mainshaft sensor 3 P
( Black ) and PCM 33 P connectors , and recheck the
DTC
.
•
If the PCM is replaced , perform the Clutch Initialize
Learning Procedure ( page 12
- 81 ) .

DTC Recheck
Erase the DTCs ( page 12

10 )
.
Test
-
ride the motorcycle and stop the engine
.
Check
the DTC with the MCS .
Is DTC 54 - 1 indicated ?
YES
-
GO TO STEP 2

NO
-
