3) With the checkbox unchecked for "Master Switch", move down the list
to "Language" and confirm that English is selected.
4) Move down the list to "Reading Default" and select USA English
Contracted Braille, or the newly added Unified English Braille (UEB).
5) Move down the list to "Writing Default" and select USA English
Contracted Braille, or the newly added Unified English Braille (UEB).
6) Confirm by pressing B9. Note that all menu items should now be
presented in USA English Contracted Braille or UEB, depending on
your choices selected in sections 4 and 5.
7) Open Word processor application (hold down system key S1, or
access from the main menu). Once inside the word processor, open
command menu by tapping system key S3, and go to command
menu item Tools > Grade 2 > Settings.
8) In the dialog, uncheck the "Master Switch" checkbox to make the
controls for selecting braille codes visible. To clarify, if the checkbox
remains checked, all you will see below "Master Switch" is OK and
Cancel.
9) Move down the list to "Converter" and select USA English Contracted
Braille, or the newly added Unified English Braille (UEB). If you prefer
an alternative setting, select it instead.

Move down and check the check box "Type in Contracted Braille".

Move down and check the check box "Read in Contracted Braille".

Confirm by pressing B9.
Now the braille output for the presentation of menu items, system
messages, texts in PDF Viewer, Excel Viewer and doc, docx, rtf, txt, ppt,
pptx and pps files in word processor are set to either USA English
Contracted Braille (Grade 2) or the newly added UEB; this depends on
your choices made above.
Note that text input in RTF or TXT files must now be made in USA
English Contracted Braille or UEB, depending on your selections.

3.5 Default Braille Codes

The Default Braille Codes section can be found under Settings > Braille.
This is where you will find various options for changing the way you read
and type braille with VarioUltra. Menu list items include:

Master Switch Computer Braille – this is new with version 1.3
software and needs to be unchecked to see other menu options.
