COOLING SYSTEM

16.1
Cooling system
Water pump
in the engine ensures forced circulation of the coolant.
The pressure resulting from the warming of the cooling system is regulated by a valve
in radiator cap
. Heat expansion causes excess coolant to flow into compensating
tank
. When the temperature falls, this surplus coolant is sucked back into the cool-
ing system. This ensures that operating the vehicle at the specified coolant temperature
will not result in a risk of malfunctions.

125 °C (257 °F)
Cooling takes place by means of the air stream and a radiator fan, which is controlled by
a thermoswitch.
The lower the speed, the less the cooling effect. Dirty cooling fins also reduce the cooling
effect.
