These operating instructions provide information about the product as well as how to use and clean your coffee machine.

    Operation www.schaerer.com Operation Checking before switching on ► Before switching the coffee machine on, check whether the following conditions have been met. Conditions for switching on the coffee machine: • The stop valve of the water supply (in machines with a mains water supply) is open / the drinking water tank is filled with fresh water.

    Operation www.schaerer.com ► Open the machine cover by lifting it up. Option 1: Small bean hopper ► Pull the sliding locking mechanism (A) out of the bean hopper as far as the stop.  The bean hopper is unlocked and locked at the same time by the slider.

    Operation www.schaerer.com ► Close the door. Dispensing Adjusting the cup platform If a large container is being used, e.g. a Latte Macchiato glass, the adjustable cup platform must be swivelled to the right. ► Grip the cup platform, swivel it to the right and let it snap into place.

    Cleaning www.schaerer.com Starting automatic machine cleaning The cleaning programme is started on the touch screen. The user is guided through all the re- quired actions on the touch screen. ► Press the [Operator service menu] field on the touch screen (see figure).

    Cleaning www.schaerer.com ► Turn the disposable foamer head 90° to the right and pull it forward together with the hose and milk nozzle. ► Clean both O-rings (A) with a damp cloth. ► Grease the O-rings (A) slightly with the Molykote 111 grease provided. Keep the opening (B) free from grease.

    Cleaning www.schaerer.com ► Turn the spindle of the brewing unit anti-clockwise as far as the stop using the multi-tool.  The scraper (B) is in the scraper position. ► Remove any ground coffee residue with a dry brush. ► To clean, slightly lift the drop-in slide (D) away from the brewing screen.

    ► Slide the drinking water tank back into the machine. The replacement cartridges can be ordered from Schaerer AG. The necessary article number is listed in the machine-specific spare parts catalogue. For correct calculation of the descaling time, the hardness of the water (determined by the wa- ter hardness test) and the use of a filter must be entered in the coffee machine programming.

    Service and maintenance www.schaerer.com Adjusting the grind level The grind level is influenced by wear on the grinding discs. To ensure that the grinding quality remains constant, the grind level must be adjusted as required. There is a risk of injury on the inside of the grinders.
