5.2.2 Connect a Console Maintenance Terminal to the Switch
The HN4000e and HN4000i switch models use different types of connectors for their maintenance
terminal interfaces. HN4000e switch models use an RJ-45 connector;

HN4000i switch models use a DB-9 connector.
Step 1. Connect the maintenance terminal's serial cable to the HN4000 switch's RJ‐45 Console
port (HN4000e switch model) or DB‐9 Craft port (HN4000i switch model).

Step 2. Configure the communication settings of the maintenance terminal (or a personal
computer's terminal emulation program) to:

Step 3. Start a communication program on the maintenance terminal. For example, a pro‐
gram such as HyperTerminal (on a computer using Microsoft Windows).
When the maintenance terminal is connected to the craft port, the Login prompt of
the CLI should appear. If it does not, press the maintenance terminal's <Enter> key
several times.
5.2.3 Use the CLI to Enable DHCP on the Management Port
Step 1. Log into the CLI using the default administrator username and password, or the
administrator username and password you have been provided.
Press the <Enter> key after typing your username and password.
