Lamp Test Button
The LAMP TEST button (Figure
the button is pressed. Starting with release 5.0.0 of the system software, the HN4000's lamp test
button can be set (using the config system command's lampTestButton argument) to operate
in one of the following ways:
1. the basic lamp test and alarm cutoff operations (press the button for less than two seconds
to test the lamps and press the button for more than two seconds to reset the alarm port's
relay contacts).
2. a switch reboot operation in addition to the basic operations (press the button for more
than 10 seconds to reboot).
3. a switch renumbering operation in addition to the basic and reboot operations (press the
button for more than five seconds, but less than 10 seconds). The switch‐number LED will
blink. Press the button to select a new switch number (which must be unique within the
stack). After you make the selection, the switch will reboot.
The default setting is to support all four operations as described in #3 above (lamp test, alarm cut-

3.3.1 Testing the Device's Lamps

If you press and hold the LAMP TEST button for less than two seconds, all of the device's
LEDs will illuminate while the button is pressed.

If you press and hold the button for more than two seconds but less than five seconds, the
LEDs return to normal operation.
