Installing the HN4000 Switch

2.1

Unpacking and Inventory

Each HN4000 includes individually packaged components that must be inventoried to verify
that all components have been received.
Static Electricity can damage or decrease the reliability of electrical and optical equipment. While
unpacking and handling electrical and optical equipment, wear a grounding wrist strap to dis-
charge the static buildup. The grounding wrist strap is designed to prevent equipment damage
caused by static electricity. Before unpacking and installing equipment or making system intercon-
nections, connect the grounding wrist strap.
Step 1. Open the shipping containers and remove the equipment.
Step  2. Inventory the equipment against the Shipping List delivered with the shipping con‐
tainers. The HN4000 Installation Kit item lists are located in the section "Rack Mount‐
ing Kits" on page
Step  3. If any items are missing, incorrect, or if there are any signs of damage to any items,
see Appendix
Step  4. Move the equipment to the installation site when the inventory is complete.
