4.8 HEAD CLEANING BEFORE PRINTING

Before printing, perform purge and head cleaning to clean the print head surface and the nozzle. Follow the
steps below for the head cleaning.
Caution :
Step 1 :
Turn the unit power ON.
Step 2 :
Verify that the unit is in a normal status.

Step 3 :
Press the [F4] key of the operation panel.

Go on to the Purge menu.
Step 4 :
Press the following keys on the operation panel to change the settings.
• When changing the ink colour: [F1] key
• When changing the purge mode (Normal, little, powerful, continuous): [F2] key
Notes:
When performing a head cleaning:
• Put the gloves supplied with the printer on both hands.
• Only use the print head wiper or polynit wipers supplied with the printer.
Otherwise nozzles may become clogged.
The ink and jetwash liquid are hazardous. If skin contact occurs, wash with soap
water and rinse well.

The factory default settings (initial values) are set as follows. Normally, there is no
need to change the settings.
• Ink Colour: All
• Purge mode: Normal
