Troubleshooting

Dealing with Problems
• If a message appears on the screen, see the appendix in the user's manual, IM WT1801-02EN.
• If servicing is necessary, or if the instrument does not operate properly even after you have
attempted to deal with the problem according to the instructions in this section, contact your nearest
YOKOGAWA dealer.
Problems and Solutions
Nothing appears on the screen when you turn on the power.
The displayed data is not correct.
Keys do not work.
Triggering does not work.
Unable to make harmonic measurements.
Cannot print to the built-in printer.
Unable to recognize a storage medium.
Unable to save data to the selected storage medium.
Unable to configure or control the instrument through the communication interface.

Securely connect the power cord to the instrument and to the power outlet.
Set the supply voltage to within the permitted range.
Check the screen settings.
The built-in power supply fuse may have blown. Servicing is required.
Confirm that the ambient temperature and humidity are within their specified
ranges.
Confirm that noise is not affecting the measurement.
Check the measurement cable wiring.
Check the wiring system.
Confirm that the line filter is off.
Check the measurement period settings.

Turn the power off and then on again.
Check the REMOTE indicator. If the REMOTE indicator is illuminated, press
LOCAL to turn it off.
Confirm that keys are not locked.
Perform a key test. If the test fails, servicing is necessary.
Check the trigger conditions.
Confirm that the trigger source is being applied.
Check the PLL source settings.
Confirm that the input signal that you have selected as the PLL source meets the
specifications.
The printer head may be damaged or worn out. Servicing is required.
Check the storage medium format. If necessary, format the storage medium.
The storage medium may be damaged.
If necessary, format the storage medium.
Check the free space on the storage medium. Remove files or use a different
storage medium as necessary.
Confirm that the GP-IB address and the IP address settings meet the
specifications.
Confirm that the interface meets the electrical and mechanical specifications.
