PC-based operation
The multiplexer is equipped with serial ports to enable
connection to a computer. If the connection is correct-
ly configured, all the pushbutton controls of the multi-
plexer can be emulated by the PC.
The operation of this type of remote control system
requires both general IT skills and a knowledge of
communications software, neither of which can be
dealt with fully here.
Requirements
Required accessories:
IBM-compatible PC with operating system installed
and a free serial port
Serial interface cable
Software for communicating with the multiplexer
(e.g. MS Terminal for Windows)
Transmission parameters
In order to permit the exchange of data between the
PC and multiplexer, the transfer parameters of both
devices must be identical.
You will find information on how to configure these PC
transfer parameters in the manual supplied with the
communications program.
The transfer parameters corresponding to the multi-
plexer are established via the REMOTE menu (see
page 41).
