Alarm connections

The 25-pin ALARM IN/OUT sub-D socket is fitted for
the purpose of connecting up to 9 (ZS-SX109) or 16
(ZS-SX116) external alarm signals. The socket is
connected to a further three alarm outputs, each
configured as an open-collector output with a capa-
city of up to 20 V and 20 mA.
The alarm outputs are configured for use with:
❚ Sensor alarm (common to all inputs)
❚ Loss of video signal (common to all inputs)
❚ Alarm-reset function (see pages 15 and 36)
Connection is carried out using the 25-pin sub-D plug
kit supplied with the unit.
z
Important!
The switching outputs for the connected
devices operate at:
Operating voltage: less than 20 V
Power consumption: less than 20 mA.
The inputs are specified as follows:
5 V, 5 mA, delay of approx. 100 ms.
Note
Depending on the layout of the system, it
may help to connect the alarm source con-
nection wires (e.g. door contacts, infrared
sensors) to a terminal strip before proceed-
ing. You can then carry out the connection to
the multiplexer using a 25-pin data transfer
cable.
The table shows the wiring layout of the port:
