Insert a paper clip into plunger.
Remove the pin and washer from the actuator
cam link. Disengage the link from the shift actua-
tor cam.

Remove the ground lead from the powerhead.
Using Special 1/2 in. Box Wrench, PIN 322700,
remove port and starboard powerhead retaining
nuts with washers.

Remove the four screws retaining the powerhead
to the exhaust housing.

Move the powerhead sideways to break the gas-
ket loose and remove from midsection. Remove
the inner exhaust tube from the powerhead.

Place the powerhead in a suitable holding fixture
and remove all carburetor, ignition, and electrical
components from the powerhead. To simplify
reassembly and wiring installation, layout the var-
ious screws and clamps in order of their proper
location.
