COOLING SYSTEM

CAUTION
The engine must be cool before servicing the
cooling system, or severe scalding may result.
R e m o v e t h e r a d i a t o r c a p .
Remove the lower radiator cowl.
Drain the coolant from the radiator by removing
the drain plug at the lower radiator.
Drain the coolant from the engine by removing the
drain bolts at the water pump cover and cylinder
h e a d s .
R e p l a c e t h e d r a i n p l u g a n d b o l t s .
F i l l t h e s y s t e m w i t h a 5 0 - 5 0 m i x t u r e o f d i s t i l l e d
w a t e r a n d e t h y l e n e g l y c o l .
B l e e d a i r f r o m t h e r a d i a t o r .

S t a r t t h e e n g i n e a n d r u n u n t i l t h e r e a r e n o a i r
b u b b l e s i n t h e c o o l a n t . a n d t h e l e v e l s t a b i l i z e s .
o S t o p t h e e n g i n e a n d a d d c o o l a n t u p t o t h e p r o p e r
level if necessary.
o R e i n s t a l l t h e r a d i a t o r c a p .
o Check the level of coolant in the reserve tank and
fill to the correct level if the level is low.
o Install the lower radiator cowl.
