shaft sleeve.
The shim washers (AL and AM) found in the acces-
sory bag should be fitted between the lower and up-
per steering column to compensate any axial play: 0,
1 or 2 washer can be required (fig 4).
BATTERY (Scoop ES)
The battery is sealed and therefore does not require
topping up with battery acid.
The battery is installed at the factory. However, be-
fore starting the machine for the first time, the
black cable must be connected to the negative ter-
minal on the battery (fig 5).
Do not short circuit the battery termi-
nals as sparks may arise and cause fire.
Do not wear any metal items of jewel-
lery that can easily come in contact with
the battery terminals.
Do not run the engine with the battery disconnect-
ed.
BATTERY (Garden)
The battery is dry charged which means that battery
requires battery acid before it can be used.
In a well lit building and where you have
access to running water, fill the battery
with battery acid. Acid is corrosive; use
rubber gloves and handle the acid with
extreme care, avoid any spillage. Acid
can eat into the skin as well as damage
clothing and any other material it comes
into contact with.
It is also recommended to wear protec-
tive glasses to prevent damage to the
eyes. Also avoid inhaling the acid fumes.
