3. Adjust the position of the throttle cable
joint until its hole is aligned with the pin
c on the throttle cam. NOTICE: The
throttle cable joint must be screwed in
a minimum of 8.0 mm (0.31 in) d.

TIP:
Pull the inner cable to avoid the free play
(backlash) of the cable, and install it to the
pin.
4. Connect the throttle cable joint 3, install
the clip 2, and then tighten the locknut
1.
5. Check the throttle cable for smooth oper-
ation.

Adjusting the shift cable

1. Set the gear shift to the neutral position.
2. Loosen the locknut 1, remove the clip
2, and then disconnect the shift cable
joint 3.

3. Align the pin a in the center of the shift
bracket with the alignment mark b on
the bracket.
4. Adjust the position of the shift cable joint
3 until its hole is aligned with the pin a.
NOTICE: The shift cable joint must be

in) c.
5. Install the shift cable joint 3 and clip 2,
and then tighten the locknut 1.
