Removing the water pump

1. Remove the water pump housing 1,
insert cartridge 2, and impeller 3.
2. Remove the Woodruff key 4, outer plate
cartridge 5, gasket 6, and dowels 7.

Checking the water pump

1. Check the water pump housing. Replace
if deformed.
TIP:
If the engine overheated, the inside of the
water pump housing may be deformed,
therefore make sure to remove the insert car-
tridge when checking the housing.
2. Check the impeller, insert cartridge, and
outer plate cartridge. Replace if cracked
or worn.
3. Check the Woodruff key and keyway on
the drive shaft. Replace if deformed or
worn.

Removing the propeller shaft
housing assembly
1. Remove the bolts 1 from the lower case.

2. Remove the propeller shaft housing 2,
and then remove the propeller shaft
assembly from the lower case.
