Checking the PTT fluid level
1. Fully tilt the outboard motor up, and then
support it with the tilt stop lever 1.
WARNING! After tilting the outboard
motor up, make sure to support it with
the tilt stop lever. Otherwise, the
outboard motor could suddenly lower
if the PTT unit should lose fluid
pressure.
2. Remove the tilt pin 2.

3. Remove the reservoir cap 3, and then
check the fluid level in the reservoir.
WARNING! Make sure that the PTT
ram is fully extended when removing
the reservoir cap, otherwise fluid can
spurt out from the unit due to internal
pressure.

TIP:
If the fluid is at the correct level, a small
amount of fluid should overflow out of the
filler hole when the reservoir cap is removed.
4. If the fluid is below the correct level, add
the recommended fluid.
Recommended PTT fluid: ATF Dexron2
5. Install a new O-ring and the reservoir cap
3, and then tighten the reservoir cap to
the specified torque.
Reservoir cap 3: 7 N·m (0.7 kgf·m, 5.2 ft·lb)
6. Install the tilt pin to its original position,
and then fully tilt the outboard motor
down.

Adjusting the throttle cable

1. Loosen the locknut 1, remove the clip
2, and then disconnect the throttle cable
joint 3.

2. Align the alignment mark a on the throt-
tle cam 4 with the alignment mark b on
the shift bracket.
