3. Turn the engine off.
4. Remove the thermoswitch.
5. Place the thermoswitch in a container of
water and slowly heat the water.

6. Check the thermoswitch for continuity at
the specified temperatures. Replace if
out of specification.

Thermoswitch continuity temperature:
Gray/Black (Gy/B)–Black (B)
f: 76–84 °C (169–183 °F)
g: 63–77 °C (145–171 °F)
7. Install the thermoswitch, and then con-
nect the thermoswitch connectors.

Checking the oil pressure switch

1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch 1
connector a.
2. Turn the engine start switch to "START",

3. Turn the engine off.
4. Check the oil pressure switch 1 for con-

and then measure the input voltage (CDI
unit end). Replace the CDI unit if below
specification.

(reference data):
Pink (P)–Ground
4.0 V
To prevent the engine from starting when
cranking it, make sure to disconnect all
spark plug caps.
Measure the input voltage while the engine
is cranking.

switch using the special service tool if out
of specification, see step 7–step 9.
