Removing the water pump and shift
rod
1. Remove the water pump housing 1,
gasket 2, insert cartridge 3, and impel-
ler 4.
2. Remove the Woodruff key 5, outer plate
cartridge 6, gasket 7, and dowels 8.

3. Set the gear shift to the "N" position, and
then remove the shift rod assembly 9.

Shift rod push arm: 90890-06052
TIP:
When removing the shift rod, slightly lift it up,
and then pull it up by turning it 90° counter-
clockwise.

If the engine is overheated, the inside of the
water pump housing may be deformed,
therefore make sure to remove the insert car-
tridge when checking the housing.
