Operating Modes

Install Tool provides three operating modes: wizard mode, standard mode, and
demo mode.

Wizard Mode

Description
Install Tool provides several wizards, each of which leads you through the
configuration of a specific set of Passport 4400 services (or, in the case of the
Setup Wizard, it leads you through the configuration of the entire unit). Each
wizard presents a sequence of dialog panels through which you provide the
required configuration data. As you configure each port on the unit, the wizard
highlights that port on the backpanel image.
When to Use It
It is recommended that you use wizard mode to configure a factory-new or
factory-defaulted Passport 4400.
For More Information
See
Chapter 7, "Using Install Tool
mode.

Standard Mode

Description
Standard mode allows you to select and modify the configuration of any available
port from the backpanel image. In addition, it allows you to provision services,
test ports, and display port status.
