Passport 4400 IP Addressing

This appendix provides a brief overview of the IP addressing requirements for
configuring Passport 4400s for either bridging or routing mode.

Overview

You can use Install Tool to configure and monitor local and remote
Passport 4400s in your network. To a large extent, the Passport 4400 routing
mode (bridging and routing) determines which nodes in the network will be
accessible through your local connection.

Default IP Addresses

Every factory-defaulted Passport 4400 assigns the following IP addresses:
Whenever you reset a Passport 4400 to factory defaults, these IP address
assignments are made.
