The ping command
The ping command sends an echo request to a specified host. Use this
command to verify network connectivity to the remote device.
Ping command syntax
The ping command uses the following syntax:
ping [-t] [-a] [-n count] [-l size] [-f] [-i TTL]

Description
Pings the specified host until interrupted.
Resolves addresses to host names.
Specifies the number of echo requests to send.
Sends buffer size.
Sets Don't Fragment flag in packet.
Specifies the Time To Live.
Specifies the Type Of Service.
Specifies the number of Record route for count hops.
Specifies the number of Time stamp for count hops.
Specifies the Loose source route along host list.
Specifies the Strict source route along host list.
Specifies the Timeout in milliseconds to wait for each
reply.
