Three types of event logs are available from the Windows Event Viewer,
as follows:

Application

Logs events by Windows components, including
RRAS or other Windows services.
Logs security events, such as logons, logoffs, and
illegal access. This option is available to users with
Administrative access.
Logs events by application, such as database file
errors.
