4.2 EXTRACCION/DESMONTAJE BOMBA
COMBUSTIBLE
Lea con cuidado 1.4 (PRECAUCIONES E INFORMA-
CIONES GENERALES) y 1.2.1 (COMBUSTIBLE)
4.2.1 EXTRACCION GRUPO BOMBA
Extraiga el depósito combustible, véase 7.1.13 (EX-
TRACCION DEPOSITO COMBUSTIBLE).

Maneje con cuidado. No dañe la sonda duran-
te la operación de extracción.
Levante y saque el anillo contenedor sonda (1).
Gire la sonda nivel combustible (2) en sentido antiho-
c
rario y extráigala con cuidado.
Antes de instalar la sonda introduzca el anillo
contenedor (1) en la sonda misma.
Destornille y quite las diez tuercas (3) que sujetan la
tapa (4) al depósito combustible (5).

Maneje con cuidado.
No dañe el filtro bomba combustible (6) du-
rante la instalación.
Extraiga la brida (4) junto con el grupo bomba com-
bustible.
Controle que el filtro (6) esté limpio de depósitos o im-
purezas, de resultar necesario límpielo.
Lave el interior del depósito combustible.
Extraiga la junta (7); de resultar dañada o aumentada
de volumen, sustitúyala.
4.2.2 DESMONTAJE BOMBA
Extraiga el grupo bomba combustible, véase 4.2.1
(EXTRACCION GRUPO BOMBA).

Antes de desconectar los tubos márquelos
con una señal para volver a conectarlos de
manera correcta.
Desconecte los tres tubos (8-9-10) de la bomba com-
bustible.
Destornille y quite los dos tornillos (11) y guarde las
correspondientes tuercas.
Extraiga la bomba combustible (12).
4.3 EXTRACCION SONDA NIVEL
COMBUSTIBLE
Lea con cuidado 1.4 (PRECAUCIONES E INFORMA-
CIONES GENERALES) y 1.2.1 (COMBUSTIBLE).
Coloque el vehículo sobre el caballete central.
Extraiga el estribo, véase 7.1.7 (EXTRACCION
ESTRIBO).
Desconecte el conector eléctrico (13).

Maneje con cuidado. No dañe la sonda duran-
te la operación de extracción.
Levante y saque el anillo contenedor sonda (1).
Gire la sonda nivel combustible (2) en sentido antiho-
c
rario y extráigala con cuidado.
Durante la instalación introduzca el anillo
contenedor (1) en la sonda antes de instalarla.

Tape la sede sonda sobre el depósito com-
bustible para que no entren impurezas, cuer-
pos exteriores y para que no salgan los vapo-
res del combustible.
4.3.1 CONTROL
Controle la integridad de los componentes.
Para controlar el funcionamiento sonda, véase 6.6
(CIRCUITO NIVEL COMBUSTIBLE).

4.2 REMOVING/DISASSEMBLING
THE FUEL PUMP
Carefully read 1.4 (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL IN-
FORMATION) and 1.2.1 (FUEL).
4.2.1 REMOVING THE PUMP UNIT
Remove the fuel tank, see 7.1.9 (REMOVING THE
REAR-VIEW MIRRORS).

Handle with care. Upon removal, take care not
to damage the fuel gauge unit.
Lift and disconnect the fuel gauge unit container ring (1).
Rotate the fuel gauge unit (2) anticlockwise and ex-

tract it with care.
Before reassembly, insert the container ring
(1) on the fuel gauge unit.
Unscrew and remove the ten nuts (3) that fasten the
flange (4) to the fuel tank (5).

Handle with care.
Upon removal, take care not to damage the
fuel pump filter (6).
Withdraw the flange (4) complete with the fuel pump
unit.
Make sure that there are neither deposits, nor impuri-
ties on the filter (6) and if necessary clean it.
Wash the inside of the fuel tank.
Withdraw the gasket (7); if it is damaged or its volume
has increased, replace it.
4.2.2 DISASSEMBLING THE PUMP
Remove the fuel pump unit, see 4.2.1 (REMOVING
THE PUMP UNIT).

Before disconnecting the pipes, mark them in
order to be able to connect them correctly lat-
er on.
Disconnect the three pipes (8-9-10) from the fuel
pump.
Unscrew and remove the two screws (11) and take the
relevant nuts.
Remove the fuel pump (12).
4.3 REMOVING THE FUEL LEVEL
GAUGE UNIT
Carefully read 1.4 (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL IN-
FORMATION) and 1.2.1 (FUEL).
Position the vehicle on the stand.
Remove the footrest, see 7.1.7 (REMOVING THE FO-
OTREST).
Disconnect the electric connector (13).

Handle with care. Take care not to damage the
fuel gauge unit upon removal.
Lift and disconnect the fuel gauge unit container ring (1).
Rotate the fuel gauge unit (2) anticlockwise and ex-

tract it with care.
Before reassembly, insert the container ring
(1) on the fuel gauge unit.

Plug the fuel gauge unit housing on the fuel
tank, to avoid the introduction of impurities
and foreign matters and the coming out of fuel
vapours.
4.3.1 CHECK
Check the integrity of the components.
To check the operation of the fuel gauge unit, see 6.6
(FUEL LEVEL CIRCUIT).
