2.16 SUSTITUCION LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE

1.2.6 (LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE
(PRECAUCIONES E INFORMACIONES GENERALES).

No utilice el vehículo si el nivel del líquido re-
frigerante está por debajo del nivel mínimo.
Controle cada 2.000 km y tras largos viajes el nivel del lí-
quido refrigerante; sustitúyalo cada 16 meses.

Pare el motor y espere a que el motor y el sis-
tema de escape se hayan enfriado.
NO ESPARZA EL LIQUIDO EN EL AMBIENTE.
Coloque el vehículo sobre el caballete central.
Destornille y quite los cuatro tornillos (1).
Saque el capó delantero (2), extrayéndolo hacia abajo.

No quite el tapón del depósito de expansión
con el motor aún caliente, porque el líquido
refrigerante está bajo presión y a temperatura
elevada. Si llega a contacto con la piel o con la ropa
puede causar graves quemaduras y/o daños.
Desenrosque y quite el tapón de llenado (4) del depó-
sito de expansión (3).
Coloque un recipiente con capacidad no inferior a
1500 cm
, por debajo de la base en correspondencia

con el tornillo de vaciado (5).
Destornille y quite el tornillo de vaciado (5).
Vacíe del todo el líquido refrigerante dentro del reci-
piente, efectúe luego el trasiego en un recipiente de
recogida para recuperación de líquidos.
Atornille y apriete el tornillo de vaciado (5).
Vierta en el depósito de expansión (3) 1200 cm
quido refrigerante.
Rellene hasta que el nivel del líquido alcance aproxi-
madamente el nivel "MAX".
No supere este nivel, porque en caso contrario puede
haber una salida del líquido durante el funcionamiento
del motor.
Vuelva a poner el tapón de llenado (4).
Extraiga la tapa de inspección derecha, véase 7.1.2
(DESMONTAJE TAPAS DE INSPECCION DERECHA
E IZQUIERDA).

Los gases de escape perjudican la salud.
No deje el motor en marcha en lugares ce-
rrados o con poco aire.
Arranque el motor y déjelo en marcha al ralentí.
Coloque un recipiente por debajo del motor para re-
coger el líquido refrigerante que ha salido del tornillo
de purga (6).

El líquido refrigerante está bajo presión,
afloje despacio y con moderación el torni-
llo de purga (6) para evitar que el líquido
salpique peligrosamente.
Afloje el tornillo de purga (6) en la válvula termoestá-
tica (7); deje salir una reducida cantidad del líquido y
eventuales burbujas de aire, apriete luego el tornillo
de purga (6).
Controle el nivel del líquido en el depósito de expan-
sión (3) y rellénelo hasta el nivel "MAX".
Recorra algunos kilómetros hasta alcanzar la tempe-
ratura normal de funcionamiento.

Pare el motor y espere a que el motor y el sis-
tema de escape se hayan enfriado.
Repita las operaciones de purga válvula termoestática
marcadas con el símbolo " ".

Do not use the vehicle if the coolant is below
the minimum prescribed level.
Check the coolant level every 2000 km and after long
rides; change it every 16 months.

Stop the engine and wait until the engine and
the exhaust system have cooled down.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF COOLANT IN THE ENVIRON-
MENT
Position the vehicle on the stand.
Unscrew and remove the four screws (1).
Remove the front cover (2), by pulling it downwards.

Do not remove the expansion tank cap when
the engine is hot, since the coolant is under
pressure and its temperature is high. If it gets
in contact with the skin or with clothes, it may cause
severe burns and/or damages.
Unscrew and remove the filling cap (4) from the expan-
sion tank (3).
Put a container with at least 1500 cm
the base, in correspondence with the drain screw (5).
Unscrew and remove the drain screw (5).
Drain the coolant and let it drip into the container, then
put it in a container for the collection of fluids.

Screw and tighten the drain screw (5).
Put 1200 cm
Top up until the coolant reaches the "MAX" level ap-
proximately.
Do not exceed this level, otherwise the coolant will
overflow while the engine is running.
Put back the filling cap (4).
Remove the right inspection cover, see 7.1.2 (REMO-
VING THE RIGHT AND LEFT INSPECTION CO-
VERS).

The exhaust gases are noxious for the
health. Do not let the engine run in close or
badly ventilated places.
Start the engine and let it idle.
Put a container under the engine to collect the cool-
ant that flows out of the air screw (6).

The coolant is under pressure, therefore
loosen the air screw (6) very carefully, in
order to avoid dangerous splashes.
Loosen the air screw (6) on the thermal expansion
valve (7); let a small quantity of coolant and any air
bubble flow out, then tighten the air screw (6).
Check the coolant level in the expansion tank (3) and
top up until it reaches the"MAX" notch.
Ride for a few miles until reaching the normal running
temperature.

Stop the engine and wait until the engine and
the exhaust system have cooled down.
Repeat the bleeding operations marked with " ".
