6.9 BATERIA

eléctrica).

6.9.1 ACTIVACION BATERIA
Lea con cuidado 2.3 (BATERIA).
Coloque el vehículo sobre el caballete central.
Levante el sillín.
Destornille y retire los dos tornillos (1).
Extraiga la tapa batería (2).
Saque la batería de su alojamiento (o de su embalaje
si es nueva), véase 2.3 (BATERIA) y colóquela en un
lugar fresco y seco.
Quite el tapón (3) del respiradero.
Quite los tapones (4) de los elementos.

Se aconseja utilice líquido electrolítico con
peso específico 1,3.
No supere la referencia "MAX" ya que el nivel
aumenta durante la carga.
Llene los vasos de los elementos con líquido electrolí-
tico hasta alcanzar la referencia "MAX".
Someta la batería a una carga lenta (con amperaje
igual a 1/10 de la capacidad de la misma batería) du-
rante diez horas como mínimo.
Habiendo realizado la carga, vuelva a controlar el nivel
del electrólito y si acaso rellene con agua destilada.
Apriete los tapones de los elementos.
Coloque la batería en su alojamiento.
Conecte el tubo respiradero batería.

Conecte siempre el respiradero de la batería
para evitar que los vapores de ácido sulfúrico,
al salir del respiradero, puedan corroer la ins-
talación eléctrica, las partes barnizadas, los elemen-
tos de goma o las juntas.
Conecte según este orden el cable positivo (
–
neativo (
).

TERY).
6.9.1 ACTIVATING THE BATTERY
Carefully read 2.3 (BATTERY).
Position the vehicle on the central stand.
Lift the saddle.
Unscrew and remove the two screws (1).
Remove the battery cover (2).
Remove the battery from its box (or from the packag-
ing, if it is new), see 2.3 (BATTERY) and put it in a cool
and dry place.
Remove the plug (3) from the vent.
Remove the plugs (4) from the elements.

Use electrolyte with 1.3 specific weight.
Do not exceed the "MAX" notch, since the
electrolyte level increases during the re-
charge.
Fill the element cells with electrolyte until reaching
the"MAX" notch.
Recharge the battery by using a trickle charge for at
least 10 hours (an amperage equal to 1/10th of the
battery capacity is recommended).
After the recharging operation, check the electrolyte
level again and if necessary top up with distilled water.
Tighten the element plugs.
Put back the battery in its box.
Connect the battery breather pipe.

Always connect the battery breather pipe, to
prevent the sulphuric acid vapours from cor-
roding the electric system, painted parts, rub-
ber elements or gaskets when they exit the breather
pipe itself.
