PUESTA A PUNTO
2.13 FRENOS DE DISCO
Lea con cuidado 1.2.5 (LIQUIDO FRENOS) y 1.4 (PRE-
CAUCIONES E INFORMACIONES GENERALES).

Los frenos son los órganos que garantizan ma-
yormente la seguridad, por lo tanto hay que
conservarlos siempre en perfecta eficacia. Hay
que sustituir el líquido de los frenos una vez cada año.
Este vehículo está dotado de frenos delanteros y trase-
ros hídraulicos de disco. Gastándose las pastillas del fre-
no, el nivel del líquido disminuye para compensar auto-
máticamente el desgaste. Los depósitos del líquido
frenos se encuentran debajo del cubremanillar, cerca de
los enganches palancas freno.
Controle periódicamente el nivel del líquido frenos en los
depósitos, véase 2.13.1 (CONTROL NIVEL LIQUIDO
FRENOS) y desgaste pastillas, véase 2.13.3 (COMPRO-
BACION DESGASTE PASTILLAS).

Controle la eficiencia de frenado. En caso de
una carrera excesiva de la palanca del freno,
de excesiva elasticidad o en caso de presencia
de burbujas de aire en el circuito, controle las juntas y
los componentes del sistema de frenado; luego efec-
túe la purga del aire del sistema, véase 2.14 (PURGA
AIRE SISTEMA DE FRENADO). De todas formas hay
que realizar la purga tras los primeros 1000 km.
2.13.1 CONTROL NIVEL LIQUIDO FRENOS
Lea con cuidado 2.13 (FRENOS DE DISCO)
Saque los retrovisores, véase 7.1.9 (DESMONTAJE
RETROVISORES).
Mantenga el vehículo en posición vertical y gire el mani-
llar de manera que el líquido contenido en el depósito
quede paralelo a la tapa del depósito del líquido frenos.
Compruebe que el líquido contenido en el depósito su-
pere la referencia "MIN" indicada en el cristal (1).
Si el líquido no llega por lo menos hasta la referencia
"MIN":
Rellene enseguida.
2.13.2 RELLENO LIQUIDO FRENOS
Lea con cuidado 2.13 (FRENOS DE DISCO).
Quite el elemento frontal (2), véase 7.1.10 (DESMON-
TAJE ELEMENTO FRONTAL).
Destornille los dos tornillos (3) del depósito del líquido
frenos (4).

Quite la tapa (5).
Para no verter el líquido de los frenos durante
el relleno, mantenga el líquido en el depósito
paralelo al borde del depósito (en posición horizontal).

Quite la junta (6).
Como referencia para alcanzar el nivel máxi-
mo "MAX", rellene hasta cubrir del todo el
cristal (1), con el borde del depósito líquido de los
frenos paralelo al suelo.

Hay que efectuar el relleno hasta el nivel
"MAX" sólo con pastillas nuevas.
El nivel del líquido disminuye progresivamen-
te con el desgaste de las pastillas.
Se recomienda no rellene hasta el nivel "MAX" con las
pastillas desgastadas, porque en caso de sustitución
de las pastillas del freno el líquido podría salirse.
Llene el depósito (4) con líquido frenos, véase 1.7 (TA-
BLA LUBRICANTES), hasta cubrir del todo el cristal (1).
Para volver a instalar los componentes, actúe siguien-
do el procedimiento en orden contrario.

2.13 DISC BRAKES
Carefully read 1.2.5 (BRAKE FLUID) and 1.4 (PRE-
CAUTIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION)

The brakes are the parts that most ensure
your safety and for this reason they must al-
ways be perfectly working.
The brake fluid must be changed once a year.
This vehicle is provided with front and rear hydraulic disc
brakes. When the disc pads wear out, the level of the fluid
decreases to automatically compensate for their wear.
The brake fluid tanks are positioned under the handlebar
cover, near the brake lever couplings.
Periodically check the brake fluid level in the tanks, see
2.13.1 (CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL) and the
brake pad wear, see 2.13.3 (CHECKING THE BRAKE
PAD WEAR).

Check the braking efficiency.
In case of excessive stroke of the brake lever,
of excessive elasticity or in case there is air in
the circuit, check the seals and the braking system
components; then bleed the system, 2.14 (BLEEDING
THE BRAKING SYSTEM).
In any case, the bleeding must be carried out after the
first 1000 km.
2.13.1 CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
Carefully read 2.13 (DISC BRAKES)
Remove the rear-view mirrors, see 7.1.9 (REMOVING
THE REAR-VIEW MIRRORS).
Keep the vehicle in vertical position and rotate the han-
dlebar so that the fluid contained in the tank is parallel
to the brake fluid tank cover.
Make sure that the fluid level exceeds the "MIN" notch
on the glass (1).
If the fluid does not reach the "MIN" notch:
Provide for topping up.
2.13.2 TOPPING UP
Carefully read 2.13 (DISC BRAKES)
Remove the front part of the fairing (2), see 7.1.10
(REMOVING THE FRONT PART OF THE FAIRING).
Unscrew the two screws (3) of the brake fluid tank (4).

Remove the cover (5).
In order not to spill the brake fluid while top-
ping up, keep the fluid in the reservoir parallel
to the reservoir rim (in horizontal position).

Remove the gasket (6).
In order to reach the "MAX" level, top up until
covering the glass (1) completely, with the
brake fluid reservoir rim parallel to the ground.

The topping up to the "MAX" level can be car-
ried out only with new pads.
The fluid level decreases progressively with
the pad wear.
Do not top up to the "MAX" level with worn pads,
since this may cause an outflow of liquid when the
brake pads are changed.
Fill the tank (4) with brake fluid, see 1.7 (LUBRICANT
CHART), until it covers the glass (1) completely.
To reassemble the components, follow the reverse or-
der.
