2.14 PURGA AIRE SISTEMA DE FRENADO
Lea con cuidado 2.13 (FRENOS DE DISCO)
El aire, si presente en el circuito hidráulico, actúa como
cojinete y absorbe gran parte de la presión ejercida por la
bomba frenos reduciendo la eficiencia de las pinzas al
frenar. La presencia del aire se manifiesta: con la "espon-
josidad" del mando del freno y con la reducción de la ca-
pacidad de frenado.

Si tomamos en cuenta lo peligroso que resul-
ta para el vehículo y para el piloto, es absolu-
tamente imprescindible que el circuito hidráu-
lico esté purgado del aire tras haber instalado los
frenos y restablecido el sistema de frenado según las
normales condiciones de uso.
Extraiga el elemento frontal (1), véase 7.1.10 (DE-
SMONTAJE ELEMENTO FRONTAL).
Destornille los dos tornillos (2) del depósito líquido fre-
nos (3).
Extraiga la tapa (4).

Para no derramar el líquido de los frenos du-
rante el relleno, se recomienda mantenga el lí-
quido en el depósito paralelo al suelo.
Extraiga la junta (5).
Compruebe que el nivel del líquido cubra del todo el
cristal (6), rellene si es necesario.
Extraiga la caperucita de protección de la válvula de
purga (7).
Conecte a la válvula de purga (8) un tubo transparente
(9).

No ensucie con el líquido freno las pastillas o
el disco.
Coloque la extremidad suelta del tubo transparente
dentro de un recipiente (10).
Accione, despacio y hasta el fondo, la palanca freno
dos o tres veces, manténgala luego accionada.
Afloje la válvula de purga (8), apriete la palanca y com-
pruebe si desde el tubo transparente salen burbujas
de aire junto con el líquido freno.

Antes de dejar suelta la palanca freno, apriete
la válvula de purga (8), para que el aire no en-
tre en el circuito de los frenos.
Al salir sólo el líquido freno, apriete la válvula de purga
(8) y suelte la palanca freno.
Par de apriete válvula de purga (8): 14 Nm (1,4 kgm).

Repita las últimas tres operaciones hasta eli-
minar del todo las burbujas de aire.

Tras haber instalado, accione varias veces la
palanca freno y controle el funcionamiento
correcto del sistema de frenado.

2.14 BLEEDING THE BRAKING SYSTEM
Carefully read 2.13 (DISC BRAKES)
The air, when present in the hydraulic circuit, absorbs
most of the pressure exerted by the brake pump and
therefore reduces the effectiveness of the calliper action
during the braking. The presence of air is signalled by the
elasticity of the brake control and by reduced braking ca-
pacity.

Since these conditions would be extremely
dangerous for the vehicle and for the pilot, it
is absolutely important to bleed the hydraulic
circuit after the reassembly of the brakes and the res-
toration of the normal conditions of use.
Remove the front part of the fairing (1), see 7.1.10
(REMOVING THE FRONT PART OF THE FAIRING).
Unscrew the two screws (2) of the brake fluid tank (3).
Remove the cover (4).

It is advisable to keep the fluid in the tank par-
allel to the ground, in order not to spill it while
topping up.
Remove the gasket (5).
Make sure that the fluid covers the glass (6) complete-
ly and top up if necessary.
Remove the protection cap (7) of the air valve.
Connect a transparent pipe (9) to the air valve (8).

Do not dirt the pads or the disc with brake flu-
id.
Put the free end of the transparent pipe inside a con-
tainer (10).
Slowly and thoroughly pull the brake lever for two or
three times and do not release it.
Loosen the air valve (8), press the lever and check if
air bubbles still come out of the transparent pipe to-
gether with the brake fluid.

Before releasing the brake lever, close the air
valve (8) in order to prevent air from entering
the brake circuit.
When only brake fluid flows out of the pipe, tighten the
air valve (8) and release the front brake lever.
Air valve (8) driving torque: 14 Nm (1.4 kgm).

Repeat the last three operations until total
elimination of the air bubbles.

After reassembly, pull the brake lever repeat-
edly and check the proper functioning of the
braking system.
