DISASSEMBLING THE WATER PUMP

1. Remove:
• Mechanical seal "1"
TIP
Remove the mechanical seal from the inside of
the AC magneto cover.

2. Remove:
• Bearing "1"
• Oil seal "2"
TIP
Remove the bearing and oil seal from the inside
of the AC magneto cover.

CHECKING THE WATER PUMP

1. Check:
• Water pump housing cover
• AC magneto cover
• Impeller
• Impeller shaft
• Water pump outlet pipe
• Water pump outlet hose
Cracks/damage/wear → Replace.
2. Check:
• Bearing
Rough movement → Replace.

ASSEMBLING THE WATER PUMP

1. Install:
• Bearing "1"
• Oil seal "2"
New
(into the AC magneto cover)

TIP
Install the oil seal with a socket that matches its
outside diameter.
Installed depth of oil seal "a"
0 mm (0 in)
2. Install:
• Mechanical seal "1"

NOTICE
Never lubricate the mechanical seal surface
with oil or grease.
TIP
Use the special tools and a press to press the
mechanical seal straight in until its flange "a"
touches the AC magneto cover.
