Setting Machi-chara
You can set a character to be displayed on the stand-by display.

Machi-chara does not appear when i-αppli stand-by display is set or while
playing moving picture/i-motion set for the stand-by display.

Confirmation messages of each setting can be expressed in the way of
Machi-chara speaking or Machi-chara with friendly message which
displays messages according to the state of the terminal or contents of
entered characters is available. "リーフロボット", "ドロンジョ様" and "バ
カボンのパパ" stored by default are the friendly message support Machi-
chara.

Display light time
You can set the duration, for which the display light is turned on.

Step 2, the lighting time set in "Normal use" applies.

Light alert

You can set the light operation that is turned on for incoming call or during a call.

Indicator light

You are notified of missed call or unread mail (i-mode mail, SMS)
by the indicator light when the FOMA terminal is closed.

The indicator light blinks at approximately 10 seconds interval. However,
when you close the FOMA terminal without checking the arrival information,
the indicator light blinks at approximately 30 minutes interval.

You can set the keypad illumination to turn on when receiving call/mail,
